Spalted Elm Vessel

Crafted from storm-fallen elm, this vessel exhibits the beauty of raw, unfinished spalted elm wood. The cracks in the end grain give insight into the vessel's story of transformation from branch to art in the high temperatures of the Texas summer heat. The interior was painted matte black to bring contrast to the unfinished exterior and highlight the natural spalting lines that decorate the mouth of the vessel. The exterior was left without oil or wax finish to pay tribute to the elm's beautiful neutral hue.

Care Instructions: Avoid excessive moisture and submersion. Dust with a non-abrasive cloth or duster as required. Not intended to hold or contact any moisture/liquids. Use care when dusting around thin edges and natural voids. Avoid handling with bare hands, as oils from skin may discolor wood's natural color.
