Pear Stitched Bowl

Crafted from a storm-fallen pear tree limb, this vessel was turned to highlight the natural beauty and hue of pear wood. The mouth was scorched to create a dramatic contrast with the body. Stress cracks in the timbers have been stitched with waxed linen threads for structural and aesthetic function. 

This form is not finished with any wax or oil.

Care Instructions: Avoid excessive moisture and submersion. Dust with a dry, non-abrasive cloth or duster as required and not intended to hold or contact any moisture/liquids. Use care when dusting around thin edges and natural voids. Limit handling with bare hands, as oils from the skin may alter the color of the wood.
